The success of a theatre production does not only happen on stage. A multitude of elements come together behind the scenes to create a seamless performance, such as lighting, sound, stage sets, and props. Backstage management is both a professional field and an art form. In this backstage workshop, you will gain valuable insights into the world of backstage management through hands-on practical training. As participants, you are expected to contribute as backstage crews for the Annual School Musical, "The Lightning Thief," in November, led by the expert guidance of Mr. Jeffrey Liu, an experienced professional in this area.
Teacher-in-charge: Mr Jeffrey Liu
Jeffrey is a graduate of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with a degree in Sound Technology. He is an experienced sound designer, engineer, and music producer. He has recorded for numerous
famous artists for concerts and publishing use. Not only is he the main sound designer for numerous university concert events, but Jeffrey has also led the sound crew in many musicals including The Incident (Hong Kong, Shanghai, and the UK), Sherwood, The Riddle, and On the Waterfront, The Miracle of Music, Butterfly Lovers and Guardian Angel.

6-7 Jun 2024 Secondary Musical: Little Shop of Horror
Entry requirement:
No pre-requisite experience need. We welcome any students who are interested in backstage theatrical support to enroll on this workshop. Students are expected to show commitment to attending all workshops, rehearsals and performances.
